Update on the Revolution Solo II. I have just finished playing a pit orchestra gig at the local 1,200 seat Performing Arts Center. This pickup works great! I now have a Fishman Pro EQ Platinum Bass pre-amp with which I was able to plug the XLR out right into the house sound system. The sound engineer had me dialed in low and loud, with a good double bass tone, in less than 2 minutes at bone rattling volume and absolutely no feedback with either pizz. or arco playing.

Thanks again for the opportunities you provide to win excellent gear!

Thanks Rod! Let us know how the performances go. That's pretty impressing without a pre-amp. Sounds good!

After a little over a month, I have finally installed the Revolution Solo II Pickup on a backup bridge and put the bridge on my bass today to give it a try. I had to cut about 4mm or so of the E string side wing slot of the bridge with a bit of filing to get it to fit.

As with piezo pickups, the fit has to be tight to get a proper sound without being too tight. I am am not running the pickup through a pre-amp ( I don't have one) and the sound is quite like my bass simply amplified. The sound is more like my bass as compared to the Six Rounds pickup I was using. It also seems I can get a bit more tonal flexibility out of the Rev. Solo II with my amp without feedback for both arco and pizz playing. I am quite happy with the sound.

Next I will work over my primary adjustable bridge to fit the pickup and expect to use it for a few performances in March/April. Thanks again to bassguitarblog.com and Upton Bass for the opportunity to win this fine product.
