Trentin Lee Manning

Posted by Benjamin on December 20, 2008 Filed under: Players tagged: Trentin Lee Manning

I received word today that solo bassist Trentin Lee Manning was killed in a tragic car accident yesterday. Earlier this year Bass Musician Magazine had singled him out as “quickly becoming one of the leading young American bassists“. It is a sad loss of one so talented and so young. His unique and touching music lives on, listen here:

There is a tribute thread on the TalkBass forum (here). I will close out with this quote from Trentin’s Bass Musician Magazine interview:

“I want to share music that means something.”

That is something for us all to aspire to. Rest in peace Trentin Lee Manning. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Read about it on Steve Lawson’s blog. They were going to have a gig together that evening. Sad story.

Yes, they were. They didn’t hear about the accident until after the gig (Steve has written about it here.
