Last weekend was Bass Player Live in LA, thanks to Carol for the heads up – sorry it was the other Carol that got the Lifetime Achievement award, there’s still next year ;). Check out Bass Player TV, some of the sessions will make their way there. Don’t forget that the UK has Bass Day 2008 […]

BassQuake 08 Cancelled

Posted on October 19, 2008 » tagged: bassquake » Add a comment »

Rather sad news in my inbox, re: BassQuake08, which is now cancelled. The organizers cited the current economic climate. Anyone where has pre-registered will receive a full refund. Enjoy this clip of Pasadena Bass Day 08 to sooth your blues: http://www.xotic.us/video/pasadenaBassDay08/index.html A 2009 event is still planned, and there will be the Namm Bass Bash 09 and Pasadena Bass […]

Deep to Deep – Saturday 11th

Posted on October 8, 2008 » tagged: deep2deep » Add a comment »

Bassists get to play in all sorts of places. One that seems to surprise people is church! There is a vibrant and active community of church bass players, many of them can be found chatting on the church bass list. The UK contingent will be meeting up this weekend, as they regularly do, under the Deep […]

Seth Horan Hits the UK

Posted on September 29, 2008 » tagged: Kev Cooke, Seth Horan » Add a comment »

Not literally you understand, but in the metaphorical sense! US Bass readers may have noticed something missing – its Seth, he’s run over to the UK. If you haven’t come across Seth before, checking out his music is a definite must for any bass player (Seth here on reverbnation – click to listen), he is […]

Bass Day 2008 – Manchester UK

Posted on August 22, 2008 » tagged: Events, Hadrien Feraud, Richard Bona, rncm, uk » 2 Comments »

Having mentioned BassQuake Faultline, thank you to those he brought my attention to the UK’s very own Bass Day in Manchester on November the 9th. Tickets are £20 ahead of time (I think that’s about $4,000,000 at the current exchange rate 😉 ), a bit more on the door. Sounds like good value.
